Integrated Planning: Adapting Best Practices for your College – January 22, 2016 at Orange Coast College

Demands on colleges for creating more and more plans continue to increase. For our colleges to be effective, these plans need to be integrated with each other and with resource allocation, facilities development, student services, curriculum development, course offering plans, hiring and technology procurement. During this workshop, several leading colleges with integrated planning will share best practices they developed and problems encountered in the process. Then, teams from each college will engage in structured activities to apply the best practices. Join us and walk away with a specific work plan to implement an effective and efficient integrated planning model at your college. This workshop presented best practices for integrated planning highlighting several college’s planning processes, including College of the Canyons, Mt. San Antonio, San Diego Mesa, and South Orange CCD.

About The Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative

The Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) is a collaborative effort to advance the effectiveness of California Community Colleges, reduce accreditation sanctions and audit issues, and enhance our colleges' ability to serve students effectively. In an effort to achieve these goals, the IEPI is commissioning the development of resources and offering workshops to address identified needs. In late 2015 and early 2016 workshops focusing on integrated planning were held at various locations across the state. The IEPI is jointly administered by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and College of the Canyons. Major components of the initiative include development of the statewide indicators per SB 852 and SB 860, making Technical Assistance Teams (now called Partnership Resource Teams) and implementation grants available to colleges interested in receiving assistance, and providing professional development opportunities.
