General Information

This two-day summit is designed to take colleges beyond simply reaching incarcerated and formerly incarcerated college students and into the future as we achieve a shared vision of quality and sustainability. Since 2015 we have reached more of these students than ever before, and we are ready to focus on quality, student support, degree completion, job attainment, and transfer. Topics will cover emerging issues ranging from trauma responsiveness, to technology in custody, to new funding for on-campus efforts. Participants will engage with campus presidents, corrections representatives, students and graduates, private foundations, and representatives from outside the system who can be our partners as we support these students to graduation. Sessions will be designed to result in concrete movement toward a shared goal, delving into details and strategies that you can take back to your campus. This event is being planned in cooperation with the Renewing Communities initiative.

Who Should Attend?

Colleges that are currently working with incarcerated or formerly incarcerated students are encouraged to send faculty and staff leading the efforts on campus, including Program Directors, Program Managers, Counselors, Vice Presidents of Instruction and Student Services, Deans, and coordinators for student equity. Both CTE and non-CTE faculty should attend if they are actively involved with these students on their campus. Colleges not yet doing the work, but that are interested in building efforts on their campus, should send staff or faculty who would be leading the efforts on their campus.

Please review the agenda to determine whether to choose both days or only Day 2 of the summit.
