March 7, 2018 - 8:00 AM to March 9, 2018 - 5:00 PM

We are excited to announce our conference schedule for the 2018-2019 Fiscal Years. In listening to you - our members, we have moved all conferences to a Wednesday - Friday schedule. This also allows you to miss only one class of a T/Th or M/W schedule. Additionally, it allows you to take advantage of conference pricing and treat yourself and your family to a mini-vacation in Sacramento or Rancho Mirage!

With CCCAOE's enhanced role as advocates for the California Community Colleges CTE Programs, and to better interact with our system partners as well as the CA State Legislature; for the next three years, we will host the Spring Conference in Sacramento, CA at the Hyatt on 12th and L Streets. The Hyatt sits across from the State Capitol, a short distance from the new arena, and a quick walk to all the restaurants and fun Old Town and the K Street Mall offer.

In listening to you at the Fall 2016 Conference about the amazing facility, we have signed a three-year contract with Omni Rancho Las Palmas. This allows us to lock in pricing for AV, sleeping rooms, food etc. thus keeping the registration fee as low as possible and as the conferences are scheduled for Wednesday - Friday - you can take advantage of great conference rates for a mini-vacation with your family! Water parks, golfing, spa services.

Our annual conference is an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues, to learn from those whose innovative and successful ideas are paving the way to increasing student success. In spring of 2018, the theme will be "Leading Pathways to Success". Over 350 representatives from student services , insturction, categorical programs, the State Chancellor's Office and a myriad of other constituents will convene, all focused on improving student success and completion while maintaining access for underrepresentee student populations. We hope you will be able to join us and support this vital work for our 2.1 million Callifonia Community College students.

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

ASCCC’s Transfer, Articulation, and Student Services (TASSC) Committee is pleased to announce the TASSC Regional Meetings.

Student learning relies on the discipline expertise and teaching mastery in the classroom; however, helping students to plan their educational path and achieve their goals is the job of all faculty with student services faculty being essential players in the success of our students. Counselors and other student services faculty help students navigate course requirements, student support services, transfer agreements, and the many other pitfalls that can slow students down on their journeys. Because of the critical nature of the work student services faculty do, the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges is offering a series of meetings to help all faculty understand recent developments in regulations and initiatives that impact student service areas and how they can play a role in addressing these changes locally. This daylong event (one in the north and one in the south) features presenters from colleges across the state; general sessions and breakouts on many topics related to associate degrees for transfer, transfer agreements with the UC system, credit for prior learning, the Educational Planning Initiative, challenges facing general education and, of course, guided pathways. Join us and take away important updates and effective strategies for improving addressing the needs of students as they make their journey through your college.

The meeting will include a panel presentation on the role of student services faculty in the guided pathways framework and a general presentation on recent changes in general education. Local faculty leaders including counseling faculty, academic and students’ services administrators, ASCCC Executive Committee members, and more will participate.

There is no cost to attend, however registration is required. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
